Virus of hepatitis C
The virus of hepatitis C is small a wrapped virus, of approximately 60 Nm diameter, whose genome is a linear ARN monocaténaire of positive polarity contained in an icosahedral proteinic capsid. It has a great genetic variability: six different genotypes were identified. Its prevalence in France and Belgium east of 1%; it goes up until more than 10% in certain areas D Africa (Egypt for example). Its mode of transmission is primarily parenteral (puncture, abrasion,…) and to a lesser extent sexual.
Its known Co-receivers are glycosaminoglycanes, SR-B1, CD81 and the Claudine 1.
The various genotypes constitute the Hepacivirus , and cause the Hépatite C.
In France, 650.000 people are carrying the VHC, but 400.000 do not know it.
