Virtua Fighter 4
Virtua Fighter 4 is a Jeu of combat in 3D developed by Sega AM2 and left in 2001 in Borne arcade and 2002 on Playstation 2. It belongs to the series Virtua Fighter.
Gameplay
Virtua Fighter 4 takes again the bases of the Gameplay of the preceding episodes of the series:-
the system of play uses only three buttons (a: to avoid; B: fist; C: foot) but the possible combinations make the number of blows and allowed sequences very important. The play is mainly very realistic and contains few whimsical special blows like the majority of the plays of the kind in 2D.
- projections are done with the buttons has + B and the circular blows with B + C. There are many way of being raised after being put at ground according to the character used and are placement, the sequences (or combo S ) are numerous and can be adapted (a combo can for example end in a high kick (button C) or one “small brush” (diagonal low-before + button C): the gameplay is of large a smoothness and invention, and respects various martial arts which are represented there.
The play is famous for its Timing very fast and difficult to control. The engagements are most of the time of short duration. The play proposes various types of levels (decorations): the closed arenas (whose barriers are sometimes destructible) and open arenas where the combatants can be made eject out of the boxing ring. The fourth button, innovation of Virtua Fighter 3 which made it possible to make a movement of dodging on the side, is replaced by a handling: it is a question of pressing quickly the directions twice “high” or “low” and the buttons has, B and C at the time of the second direction.
The version arcade of the play allows to safeguard a “Profil” and its statistics of combat on a memory card that there fits in the machine.
Version Playstation 2
The version Playstation 2 proposes in addition to the traditional modes arcade and versus:
- a mode Quest (search) which progressively simulates confrontations in rooms of arcade increasingly more famous of the progression. Each combatant managed by the console has a profile (name, look), a level of play (Kyū, daN, etc) and a style of particular combat (with its forces and its weaknesses). The variety of the adversaries (more than one hundred) and the high number of tournaments make the mode very interesting. With the wire of the progression, the player piles up money which enables him to buy new clothing and accessories for its character like various no-claims bonus (vidéos). Very original, this mode became traditional that one finds from now on in concurrent series like Soul Calibur .
-
a mode IA which proposes to manage an inexperienced combatant and to make it progress during drives or combat by directing its way of playing (tactical of play, type of blows employed, etc).
-
a mode Trial (drive) very complete which proposes a range of excercices varied, allowing to learn the elementary movements like the most advanced techniques.
