Vipera ammodytes
The viper ammodyte ( Vipera ammodytes ), or horned viper is a large squat viper which thanks to the small horn which finishes its muzzle, can be confused with no other European viper, except for the Vipère of Lataste, which does not occupy the same geographical surface. The english-speaking call besides it , viper with long nose.
The bites are rare but its venom is very active and dangerous for the man because it is injected in great quantity, but it is it less than that of the Vipère berus . Symptoms: vomiting, diarrhea, pains abdominal, hypotension. It requires the injection of an antivenin (NB: to raise contradiction with the article on Vipera berus http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vip%C3%A8re_berus).
