Viorne lantane
The Viorne lantane ( Viburnum lantana ), or Viorne mancian , is a shrub or small tree from 4 to 5 meters.
Description
Its Sheet S opposite null and void of 6-13 cm length and 4-9 cm broad oval is finely cogged, with lower face fluffy gray.The Fleur S white-cream of 5 mm form in April - June of the dense Inflorescence S in Ombelle S.
The Fruit 8 mm length S are bay S red ovals then black with maturity containing only one Graine.
It is a plant of wood lights and undergrowth on calcareous ground not exceeding 1600 Mr. Anciennement, his stems, flexible and far from breakable, was used like coarse bond.
Culture and use
One often uses it like decorative Plante for his flowers and his bays. The viorne pushes better on a ground Alcalin. There are different Cultivar S such as L Aureum' which gives yellow sheets to spring.The fruit is slightly toxic, and can cause vomiting and Diarrhée S if it is absorbed in great quantity.
The buds sheets and flower are used in Gemmothérapie (nonconventional medicine) and are regarded as draining lung.
