Violets of the PUC - Paris University Club

History

1971/1971: The idea
The PUC, pioneer as regards female Rugby, created a section between 1971 and 1975. At that time, few clubs of Rugby then count in their row a female team. In spite of this beautiful attempt, the experiment will fail because of the lack of institutional, organisational and promotional structures.

2002: The impulse
It will be necessary to wait the year 2002 so that Rugby finds new followers in the middle of Charléty. Thus, certain partners of players, weary to be confined with the role of supportrices, decide with some friends to have fun in the world “ovalie”.

Un player of the team first, MORAL Benjamin LED is put then at their service to involve them.
These first contacts with the oval balloon are extremely rudimentary of really reserved ground and crenel. It is thus in an in-goal and on a stabilized ground that the female ones start to evolve/move.
Thanks to the word of mount, in September 2002, a dozen players set up the group primarily made up of teaching of EPS and coeds. MORAL Benjamin LED, become official trainer contacts it responsible for the female commission with FR: Mrs. Wanda Noury. This one encourages it to engage the team with 12 in the 3rd division for the season 2002/2003 which will begin a few weeks later. The direction of the PUC is allured by the project and gives its support by providing a set of shirts and part of ground for the drives.
In spite of her weak manpower, the team makes good impression since it loses into 1/8 of finale vis-a-vis Chilly Mazarin.

2003/2004: Weaving
Manpower remains stable with some recruits which make it possible to compensate for the departures and the wounds of certain players. The conditions of framing of the team remain they also Spartans to which as many financial problems for the club and in particular for the female team is always added. But thanks to the good agreement which reigns within the female ones, the players deal with themselves, constant by the trainer and try by their own means of collecting funds: The calendar and the evenings of the violets were born!
In spite of a manpower always also limited, season 2003/2004 is completed on a defeat into 1/4 of finale of the championship of France of the 3rd division against the team of Bobigny and a title of Vice Champion of Ile de France.

2004/2005: The hinge
The team knows a change of trainer: MORAL Benjamin LED for professional reasons, leaves the post of trainer. He is replaced by Hugo MORENO. The actions of recruitment bear their fruits since new recruits are accommodated within the group. The group increases but two members “headlights”, two hotel bosses of the team, must leave the group for personal reasons. In spite of these risks, the team more welded than ever, wants to show the width of her potential and the fruit of her work.
She then proves it while becoming this season there Vice Champion of France with Living room the Tower at the conclusion of a very tight match against Castres and Champion of Ile de France against Mantes La Jolie. The team then knows the rise in the championship of the 2nd division for the following season.
In front of the success of their calendars and their evenings, the players decide to anchor these actions marketing and to make of them two traditions which will come to finance this season complete equipment with the colors of the club.

2005/2006: The transition
The manpower of match passes then from 12 to 15 players in spite of recruitment always such a difficult. A second trainer is recruited for the 3/4: Karine FAURE, former player of the first division and recently graduate to involve. The female Rugby of the PUC knows one season in half color: in spite of the very formative experiment, born from a confrontation on a level from higher play, the lack of players compared to the teams met limit her evolution.
This season is completed by a maintenance in the second division but also a will to obtain on behalf of the club of the average materials and practices with height of the requirements of the level of play from now on reached.

2006/2007: The turn
The violets decide to be caught in hand with the arrival of a new trainer Patrick LARGUIER, itself former player of the PUC. The female section structure, assembles a sporting project and wants to be ambitious. It builds a multiannual plan of recruitment and financing to aim at a rise in the 1st division into 2008/2009.
The season 2006 begins under purple radiant! Indeed, the female PUC positions in the trinity of its hen and does the one of the site “of the girls in ovalie” specialized in hexagonal female Rugby after a victory 32 to 5 against the team of Plabennec.
