Vineyard of Saumur-Champigny
The vineyard of Saumur-Champigny is a vineyard of the Val-de-Loire which produces Vin S reds. This vineyard was classified AOC by the decree of the November 22nd 1999 (repeals the decree of the December 31st 1957, the first relative order with name being that of the November 14th 1936). It covers approximately 1.000 hectares out of 9 communes of Maine-et-Loire between Saumur and the department of Indre-et-Loire in edge of the Loire.
The wines of Saumur-Champigny are vinified starting from frank cabernet, of cabernet-sauvignon and Pineau d' Aunis, these two last being used for the assemblies. They can keep ten years out of bottle.
