Vineyard of Saint-Nicolas-of-Bourgueil

The vineyard of Saint-Nicolas-of-Bourgueil is a vineyard of the Val-de-Loire which produces mainly red wines. Classified AOC by the decree of the July 31st 1937, it extends on approximately 800 hectares on the commune of Saint-Nicolas-with-Bourgueil in the department from Indre-et-Loire, on Right Bank of the the Loire.

The wines of Saint-Nicolas-of-Bourgueil are vinified in red or rosy (approximately 1% of the production) starting from the type of vine Cabernet frankly (called locally Breton cabernet ). The cabernet sauvignon can supplement encépagement within the limit of the 10%. These wines are races and sharp, and present an excellent ripening out of bottle (up to 20 years for the best years).

It is distinguished from its fellow-members by his smoothness and share the homogeneity of its offer. Indeed, it is about the single red wine of the Loire which is vinified on only one commune. Of international repute, the flexibility and the smoothness of these wines are remarkable.
