Vineyard of Bourgueil

The vineyard of Bourgueil is a Vignoble Val-de-Loire which produces primarily red wines. This vineyard, classified AOC by the decree of the July 31st 1937, is located at the west of Tours on Right Bank of the the Loire in limit with the Département of Maine-et-Loire. It extends on a surface from 1300 hectares out of 8 communes from the department from Indre-et-Loire.

The Vin S of Bourgueil are vinified starting from the Cépage frank Cabernet (locally called Breton Cabernet ). The Cabernet-Sauvignon can also intervene within the limit of the 10%. They are wines with the dress supported on the grounds limestones, clearer on the siliceous grounds. The nuances are currant or garnet-red. The bouquet is floral, fruity, then animal in the old wines. These wines have an excellent aptitude for ageing out of bottle (up to 20 years). The production of rosy is more confidential (2 to 5% of the total production).
