Vindonissa
Vindonissa is old a Roman Camp located on the site of current the Commune Switzerland of Windisch, in the Canton of Argovie. The camp was probably founded in the year 15 of our era. At the time of an expansion about the year 30, of the thermal baths was added.
Thirteenth the Légion (Legio XIII Geminated) was stationed in Vindonissa until in 44 or 45. On arrival of twenty-and-unième legion (Legio XXI Rapax), the camp was rebuilt with stone fortifications. After it twenty-and-unième legion devoted itself to plunderings in the surrounding countryside in 69, the garrison was replaced by the eleventh legion (Legio XI Claudia), which remained there until worms the year 101. After this date, Vindonissa became a civil colony, until a Castellum sees the day at the 4th century to counter the incursions of the Alamans.
