Vincent Vanoli

Vincent Vanoli is an author of Cartoon, born in 1966 in Holy Mont Martin in Meurthe-et-Moselle.

He releases from the reading of his albums a frustration, an impression which the album is not complete. Through the evocation of historical great events (Mexican revolution, Russian), he manages to interest us on subjects which he will not cover since it remains on a poetic level and not in the documentary register. The books of Vanoli plunge us in a historical culture of which they invite us not to pass to us.

Vanoli often has recourse to boxes, boards even of the sequences of entirely dumb boards. The structure of the boards is very irregular, the boxes are distributed according to the needs for the narration, often only one box occupies the board. Giboulées is a particular case: each board is divided only into two boxes (except for three boards) and the account is entirely dumb.
