Vincent Riou is a navigator French born the January 9th 1972 with Pont-l'Abbé.

It has past of régatier, but such a technical (preparer of Michel Desjoyeaux for the Vendée Globe 2000). Champion of France of Match Racing (1994), twice champion of France of First Class 8 (1997 and 1998), it takes part several times in the Solitaire of the Barber, in whom it is classified 4th in 2002.

Engaged in the Vendée Globe 2004/2005, it gains the race over the sailing ship PRB which was the victorious boat, barred by Michel Desjoyeaux in the preceding edition. Arrived on February 2nd, 2005 at 23:49 at the Sand-with Olonne, it buckles the round the world tour in 87 days, 10 hours, 47 minutes, improving of almost 6 days the record of Michel Desjoyeaux, in front of Jean Le Cam which arrives only 7 hours later after 41.000 km of race.

Of return of its Vendée Globe, it launched out in the construction of a new Farr plan launched in June 2006. Engaged in the Road of Rum, Vincent Riou has to give up following the rupture of his chechmate after two days of race. In 2007, it will take part in Barcelona World Race accompanied by Sebastien Jose. Since the beginning of the season, Vincent in particular gained Calais Round Britain Race (turn of British Isles) as well as Rolex Fastnet Race, in double with Sebastien Jose.
