History

According to the monograph that the Abbé Decagny devoted, to the Canton of Roisel, Villers-Falcon, comes from Villers-Falcon, and still with paravant of Villare Falconis, which means in Latin: villa with the falcons. Indeed, Villers-Falcon at its origin was a fauconery seigneuriale, located in the middle of the Forest of Arrouaise.

The village quasi-totalement was quasi-totalement destroyed in 1916, at the time of the First World War. Indeed, during a withdrawal of the German troops around the lines known as of Hindenburg, the inhabitants were evacuated in worms North (in the sector of Denain), of the loads of dynamite were posed around all the buildings of the commune (including the Sugar refinery of Holy-Emilie), the cut trees, so as to leave the fields free in preparation for the approach of the troops. The village was destroyed, nevertheless the cemetery of the commune was respected to him.

Following the conflict, started a phase of rebuilding, which will last almost a decade, carried out by a co-operative of rebuilding, managing the collection of the duties of war.
