Villeparisis
Villeparisis is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.
Its inhabitants is called Villeparisiens.
Geography
Located at the North-West of the department of Seine-et-Marne, on the old layout (from now on deviated) of the RN3 connecting Paris to Meaux. The Canal of Ourcq passes non-loin of the place of the market.

History
The name of Villeparisis comes from the Gallic tribe of Parisiis. The site of Villeparisis always seems to be located on an important transportation route. One finds Gallo-Roman vestiges and mérovingiens there. The name of the city is mentioned for the first time at the 12th century.

; Two churches:- Notre-Dame of Peace: built in 1955 (first poses hones on January 30th), on a modern architecture of the XXe century by the architect Maurice Novarina. The bell-tower, detached of the church, was built at the end of the century on the architectural model of the church itself.
- Saint Martin's day: small church of XIIe century (slightly leaning)
Famous characters
- Honore de Balzac lived there in its youth. A park bears its name.
- One says that it is in an inn of Villeparisis that the king Louis XVI would have been recognized thanks to (or because of) a Gold louis on which its effigy during its escape was reproduced in Varenne with the Revolution.
Tourist monuments and places
The museum of the Local History is located at the entry of the Balzac park, is created and managed by the association of local history " Villeparisis and its Passé" , it accommodates you saturdays 10 a.m. mornings at midday.
Culture
The Arts center with the characteristic to have same sonority as Olympia says one, which explains why good number of artists make pass their rounds by Villeparisis.
