Villeneuve is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area Auvergne.

Denomination

The current official designation is and remains Villeneuve . However, one notes the frequent use, even in the administrations, of a name of use, Villeneuve-Lembron , which revêt no official character, in the absence of deliberation of the municipal council supported by the general advice, ratified by a governmental decree.

This name is in particular due to the existence of a partially homonymous commune, Villeneuve-the-Stags (Canton of Randan, Arrondissement of Riom), without counting the other communes of France completely or partially homonyms (see Villeneuve).
