Let us quote in very first place Abel Gardey , born Margouët-Meynmes on November 21st, 1882 and deceased in Pouylebon on September 22nd, 1957. Doctor in right, lawyer at the Court of Appeal of Paris, it counted among the most eminent politicians of its time and militated in the rows of socialist radical party of then. If he were elected, in 1930, mayor of Villecomtal (he had a beautiful residence there that one can always admire), it was also and especially: - elected official General adviser of Aignan (1910), - elected official Appointed of Auch (1914), - elected official General adviser of Auch. He remained President of General advice of Gers until 1940. - elected official Senator of Gers (1924), (1932), - named Rapporteur of the budget of Agriculture , then Rapporteur at the Committee of supply (1932), - named Minister for Agriculture (1932), - named Minister for Justice (1933), - named Minister for the Budget (1934), - declared ineligible in 194O to have voted the full ones capacities with Pétain, - elected again Appointed of Gers (1951), - beaten with the following elections (1956)… What decided it to be withdrawn political life. Industries

The dairy " Villecomtal" created in 1956 per Leonce Salat and developed by Alain Fremont, is from now on the property of the multinational Danone.

The latter represented in 2005:

- 240 permanent employees

- 125000 tons of dairy fresh produce

- 850 milk producers

- 135 million liters of collected milk.

Today, Villecomtal-Sur-Arros counts nearly 850 inhabitants (estimate town hall June 2006) and has an industrial and artisanal pole among most important (in term of employment) of department of the GERS. Thus one counts among his most representative units:
