Villebon (to pronounce //) is a common French, located in the department of Eure-et-Loir and the area Center.

Its inhabitants is the Villebonnais .

Geography

Villebon is located in the middle of the natural area of the Beauce, at the edge of the Loir in old the Comté of the Pole, in the Région Centers, the department of Eure-et-Loir, the district of Chartres and the canton of the Courville-on-Eure. It occupies a ground of 216 ha, mainly on the field of the castle. Three pond S supplied with the Loir are laid out in the park of the castle: pond of Diane, pond of the vault and new pond.

Villebon is located at 2 km of Saint-Denis-of-Well, 3 km of Fruncé, 4 km of Cernay, 8 km of the Courville-on-Eure, 23 km of Chartres, 28 km of Nogent-le-Rotrou, 73 km of Orleans and 100 km of Paris - Notre-Dame.

Characteristic, the commune of Villebon is located at 83 km of its homonym Villebon-sur-Yvette in the Essonne.

Villebon is located in the area Center in the middle of the Plaine S of the Beauce, it thus profits from a oceanic Climat. However, the lack of relief generates a strong exposure to the Vent S which refresh the Température S in Hiver.

Transport

The village of Villebon is with the Carrefour secondary roads 143 (of the Saint-Georges-on-Eure to Champrond-in-Gâtine) and 345 which there finishes and leads to old RN 23 (Chartres - Nantes).

It is located at 18 km of the highway A11 (Océane), at 22 km of the Gare of Chartres served by the network and LER and at 24 km of the Aéroport of Chartres - Champhol.

At 6 km, the town of the Courville-on-Eure is served by line 19 of the network of interurban Autobus departmental Transbeauce.

History

Before 1350, Villebon was called Fellardville . In 1391, Jeannet of Estouteville made build a fortress, which was damaged during the Guerre One hundred Year old and a fire at the 15th century.

In 1607, the field was acquired by the duke of Sully which réaméngea the fortress and the park in a Renaissance style.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the park of the castle was altered and the commun runs became the dwellings of the village.

September 5th 1939 with the December 3rd 1940, the castle was used as stock room for the Bibliothèque of Chartres. August 1st

Villebon belongs to the Canton of the Courville-on-Eure in the Arrondissement of Chartres. It is attached to the 3ecirconscription of Eure-et-Loir represented by the Député E Laure of Raudière (UMP), the General adviser Jacky Jaulneau (PS) and the regional adviser Philippe Loiseau (FN). 8 elected officials sit at the Municipal council. The commune is attached to the jurisdiction authority, of great authority and trade of Chartres. The rates of imposition in 2006 amounted to 9,06% for the Taxe of dwelling, 15,43% and 34,64% for the Real estate tax (built and not built), 9,72% for the Professional tax fixed by the intercommunality.

The commune adheres to the Communauté communes of the Country Courvillois for territorial installation and economic development. The Help center of Chartres, the center of intervention of the Firemen and the Caserne of gendarmerie of the Courville-on-Eure ensure the safety of Villebon.

Villebon depends on the catholic Paroisse of the Courville-on-Eure and on the Diocèse of Chartres. The vault of the castle is used as place of worship for the village.

Economy

Villebon is a village which occupies the old commun runs of the castle, it does not have trade or of company, only a craftsman mason is installed in the commune. In 2005, the Unemployment rate was established to 2,3% for an evaluated active population with 36 people, in 2004, the average revenue by household with 18.300 €. 53% of the inhabitants are owners of their housing, of the houses in 84% of the cases.

Architectural heritage

Villebon has a castle, always inhabited today, fortress of the XIVe century surrounded by ditches, decorated of an interior court of Renaissance style. The castle belonged to Maximilien de Béthune, duke of Sully, died in the castle in 1641. It is classified historic building since 1927 and is registered since 1981.

A reproduction was used for publicities for the Guerin-Boutron chocolate at the 19th century. It is exposed to the Musée of arts and traditions popular of Paris.
