Villas of Nice
The Villa S niçoises date mainly from the “Belle Time” and from the expansion of the city following the annexation of the county to the Second Empire French.
The initial classification is alphabetically with for only objective making there appear classified buildings being of architectural or historical interest obvious.
One in general finds them on the periphery, of course, and those which remain in the center town were saved property development by a use particular (Masséna villa, Furtado-Heine villa, for example). For the others, there remain only pictorial or photographic traces about it.
They present seldom more than two stages but their dimensions can be extremely important. All preserved a garden more or less nibbled by town planning but of an extraordinary richness in the raised gasolines which one can find there.
