Viktoria Postnikova
Viktoria Valentinovna Postnikova (in) is a Soviet Pianiste then Russian born the January 12th 1944 with Moscow.
Biography
Exit of a family of musicians, it gives its first concert to the seven years age one year after having begun its studies of music to the central École of music of Moscow (1950 - 1962). It enters then to the Conservatoire of Moscow where it follows the courses of Jacob Flier (1962 - 1967). It obtains a honourable mention with the international Concours of piano Frederic-Chopin of Warsaw in 1965, and gains in 1968 the first price of the Contest Vian da Mota of Lisbon. In 1969, it is very noticed with the international Contest of piano of Leeds.This same year, she marries the leader Guennadi Rojdestvenski. They will give rise to the famous violonist Sacha Rojdestvenski.
Lastly, Viktoria Postnikova obtains in 1970 the third price of the international Concours Tchaïkovski of Moscow. These is the latter contest which marked the true beginning of its career.
In October 1995, the Rojdestvenski-Postnikova couple cancels a representation of works of Prokofiev envisaged the following day with the Théâtre of the Fields-Elysées with the National orchestra of France. In a letter sent to Claude Samuel, director of the music of Radio-France, Rojdestvenski explain that his wife and he cannot work with this orchestra, her musicians undisciplined, being distracted, and not being sufficiently prepared.
In 2004, Viktoria Postnikova receives the price of the Artists of the People of Russia.
Collaborations
Viktoria Postnikova collaborated with number of chiefs including Adrian Boult, Colin Davis, Kirill Kondrachine, Kurt Masur, and her husband Guennadi Rojdestvenski.She worked with the Symphony orchestra of the Ministry for the Culture of the USSR, the Philharmonic orchestra of Berlin, the royal Orchestre of Concertgebouw, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the philharmonic orchestras of New York, Cleveland, of Philadelphia, and with the Symphony orchestra of Boston. She more sporadically collaborated with the Symphony orchestra of Vienna like with the Symphony orchestra of the BBC.
Lastly, she collaborated in duet in Four hands with Irina Schnittke.
Repertory
Its repertory includes/understands the entirety of the concertos for piano of Beethoven, Tchaikovski, Chopin, Brahms, like certain works for piano of Bach, Moussorgski, Schumann, Rachmaninov, Liszt, Scriabine, and of the concertos of Mozart and Haydn. Nevertheless, Postnikova asserts an attachment with the repertory of the 20th century when it is a particularly appreciated interpreter of Bartók, Britten, Chostakovitch, Prokofiev and Schnittke. Alfred Schnittke dedicated besides to him his Concerto grosso nº 6 for piano, violin, and orchestrates .In Chamber music, she interpreted with Yehudi Menuhin the entirety of the sonatas for piano and violin of Brahms, as well as works of Mozart, Beethoven and Bartók.
