Vij
Vij (or Vii, Vii, Viy, Vyi according to the translations) (in Russian Вий) is a news of Nicolas Gogol, published for the first time in March 1835 in volume Mirgorod .
In the Slavic Mythology, the Ukrainians indicate Vij the chief of the gnomes whose eyelids hang to the ground.
Vij was translated into French for the first time by Louis Viardot under the title the King of the gnomes and was published in the collection Nouvelles Russian by Nicolas Gogol
