Viguier of Andorra
In Andorre the viguier is a magistrate and military chief, person in charge of the law and order.
Andorra is placed under the undivided authority of two Co-princes: the Bishop of Urgel and the President of the French Republic, which delegate their powers with two viguiers : the Episcopal viguier and the viguier French .
The Prime Minister is resulting from the Conseil of the Valleys composed of 28 members elected by the 7 parishes at a rate of 4 advisers per parish.
Since 1981, the French viguier is replaced systematically by a French magistrate, therefore a member of the French judicial power, resulting from the legal authority. Since 1988, the Spanish viguier is made replace by a Spanish magistrate.
