Viglius (October 19th 1507 with Barthusen, in the Western PlankMay 5th 1577), whose name is taken of Wigle Aytta van Zwichem (sometimes francized in Vigile Zuichem d' Ayta ), Dutch jurisconsult.

He taught the right to Bourges, with Padoue, Avignon and Ingolstadt. Charles-Quint, which had learned how to know its merit, appointed it baron of the empire, adviser to the room of finances of Spire, senator at the supreme court of Malines, president of the council of Brussels, chancellor of the Ordre of the Golden Fleece, and finally abbot of the Monastère of Bavon to Ghent.

Zuichem establishes with Leuwen a free school for the children and a college for the student poor. He died in Brussels, in 1577.

  3. Commentaria AD titulum of rebus creditis , ibid, 1592, in-8. It published in Basle, 1534, in-fol., and Leuwen, in-4.
  4. degraded Theophittparaphrasim AD institutiones juris , erudite work which it had copied in the library of Bessarion.
