Vigan is the capital of the province of Ilocos On of the Filipino , on the west coast of the island of Luzon, on the southernmost China Sea.

It is on the Liste of the world heritage of UNESCO because it is an almost intact example of Spanish colonial city in Asia. Known for its paved streets, its architecture mixes the Asian and European styles.

Its population rises with: 45143 inhabitants in 2000.

Name

The Conquistador Juan de Salcedo goes up to the north of Ilocos to establish a military base close to the current site of Vigan.
