Vienna-in-Valley is a common French, located in the department of the Loiret and the area Center (French area).

Its inhabitants are called the Viennois (be)

Geography

Vienna-in-valley is with a score of kilometers in the South-east of Orleans. The commune is located on a slope and is thus divided into two part:
  • the northern part belongs to the Loire Valley, classified with the world heritage of UNESCO, it is composed primarily of cultures and is crossed by the Bergeresse river, principal affluent of Dhuy and thus of the Loiret.
  • the southern part belongs to the the Sologne where the forest is prevalent there and where one counts a great number of ponds, hunting and fishing is strongly practiced activities.

History

Commune of Gallo-Roman origin, its old name is Vienna Vico. It is an old place of pilgrimage where one called upon Jupiter particularly.
