Viedma

Capital of the Argentinian province of Río Negro and place chief of the Department of Adolfo Alsina. It is located at the east of the province, on Right Bank of the river río Negro, vis-a-vis the town of Carmen de Patagones, being it in province of Buenos Aires, and with which it forms only one agglomeration. The city had 47.246 inhabitants with the census of 2001.

Access roads

To arrive at Viedma by terrestrial way it is necessary to borrow the trunk road 3, which is in excellent state and profits from a good indication, or the train of Patagonie, which connects the province of Río Negro of is in west. Another option consists in using the air route, by various flights known as of coastal traffic which land in the local airport.

Tourism

Viedma, is the main door of Patagonie.

With the difference of the locality close to Carmen de Patagones, Viedma is a modern administrative center which contains only some vestiges of its past in the district called " Manzana Histórica" (in French " small island historique"), which shelters the Cathedral and the old college salésien, seat of évêché oldest of the Patagonie. Among principal tourist attractions, one can choose ecological or country tourism, make knowledge with the farms which are in the west of the city, visit the locality of Carmen de Patagones and traverse his streets in charge of history, or carry out the crossing of river Río Negro on board fast boats. Other options are: practice of sporting fishing on boat, or to go to the landing stage called " caleta of los loros" to make a diving there.

Climate

The climate of this area is moderate dryness, with average temperatures of 16º C. precipitations are rare (more or less 200 mm per annum), with a light in March maximum.
