Videogame Council Rating

The Videogame Rating Council ( VRC ) is an organization of évalution of the video games. It was founded in 1993 by Sega off America in order to evaluate the products left to the United States on Megadrive, Game GEAR and Mega CD (and exceptionally some plays on computer).

The various evaluations are the following ones:

  • GA - General Audiences: All public. No blood, swearwords, of sex, alcohol or drugs.
  • MA-13 - Mature Audiences: Parental Advised Discretion. The play is advised with the people of more than thirteen years. The play can contain blood and more violence than a play classified as “GA”.
  • MA-17 - Mature Audiences: Not appropriate for minors. The play is advised with the people of more than seventeen years. It can contain bloody scenes, visual violence, sex, drug, alcohol and swearwords.
  • NYR - Not Yet Rated: these initials only appeared to indicate that a play had not been yet to evaluate by the VRC.
