Video audio Interleave
The Audio Video Interleave (Video Overlap Audio), whose acronym is AVI , is a Format of file designed for to store audio and video data.
AVI uses the same standard package “file container” in order to allow the simultaneous reading of the image and sound.
It was presented by Microsoft in November 1992, as an element of the video for the technology of Windows.
In a file AVI, each audio or video component can be compressed by any codec. The format DivX is often used like codec video, and the format Mp3 like audio codec, but of others codecs can also be used, for example XviD or MPEG for the video, and Mp2, WAV etc for the audio.
