Victoria Mélita of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha
Victoria Mélita of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha , large-duchess of Russia, born in 1876, died in 1936, is the girl of Alfred of Edinburgh and Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha, duke of Edinburgh and the large-duchess of Russia Maria Alexandrovna.
In 1894, it marries the large duke Ernest-Louis of Hesse-Darmstadt, brother of the tsarina, which it divorces later. From this union is born in 1895 a girl, Elisabeth, who suddenly deceased in 1903.
In 1905, it marries the large-duke of Russia Kyrill Vladimirovitch. From this union are born the large-duke Vladimir Kirillovitch, the large-duchess Maria Kyrillovna, the large-duchess Kira Kyrillovna.
At the time of the Russian Revolution, enclosure of the large-duke Vladimir Kirillovitch it manages to flee of the Russia with her husband, by carrying his jewels bent in the furs of its coat.
In exile, the large duke Kyril having become the chief of the imperial house, it occupies much benevolence, excellent pianist, it also likes to paint watercolours. It was very close to her sister the queen of Romania, Marie of Edinburgh.
On decision of her beautiful daughter, the large duchess Léonida Bragation, it was buried with her husband in the basilica of the Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul fortress of Saint-Pétersbourg.
