Victor Desarzens is a Swiss leader, born on October 27th, 1908 with Castle-in Œx (in the Canton of Vaud) and deceased on February 13rd, 1986 with the Villette (Lavaux) (in the Canton of Vaud)
After traditional and musical studies with Yverdon-the-Baths and Lausanne, it enters as violonist to the Orchestre of the French-speaking Switzerland, then practical the chamber music. It founds a small whole which becomes, in 1942, the Chamber orchestra of Lausanne (OCL). It directs it until in 1973.
In 1950, he in parallel becomes director of Musikkollegium of Winterthour, station which he occupies until in 1975. He makes many rounds abroad in company of the OCL, which becomes a unit considered for the repertory baroque and the modern music.
He is, with Ernest Ansermet one of the pioneers of the blooming of the musical life in French-speaking Switzerland.
