Victor Brochard

Victor Brochard (1848-1907) was a Philosophe French specialized in the history of the ancient Philosophie. University lecturer with the National university and professor of history of philosophy to the Sorbonne. Its report on the Greek Skeptics was in particular greeted by Nietzsche.

In its edition of Sodome and Gomorrhe, Antoine Compagnon suggests that Brochard would have been used as model with Marcel Proust to create the character of Brichot in To the research of time lost.
