Victor-Maurice de Broglie

Victor-Maurice, count de Broglie , born the 12/03/1647 with Turin, deceased the 04/08/1727 with Buhy was a marshal of Louis XIV.

He is born in 1647 in a noble family of Piedmontese origin, wire of François-Marie (1611-1656) and Angelica of Vassal, countess of Favria. With died his father, he inherits the counties of Revel and Broglie, the marquisat of Senonches and receives the Government of Based the, close to Lille.

Officer of cavalry at nineteen years, it is used during the Guerre of Holland under the orders as Condé and Turenne and takes part in the seats of Charleroi, Tournai, Lille, Maastricht. He marries the 8/29/1666 Marie de Lamoignon (1645-1733), girl of Guillaume Ier de Lamoignon, first president of the Parliament of Paris, and sister of Nicolas de Lamoignon, Intendant of Languedoc of 1685 to 1718.

They will have eight children:

  • Joseph-Hyacinthe (1667-1693) killed with the seat of Charleroi,

  • Charles-Guillaume, marquis de Broglie (1669 -1751), general lieutenant in 1718
  • Achilles-Joseph (1740-1758)
  • François-Marie de Broglie, future Marshal of France
  • Achilles the Knight of Broglie (1672-1750) lord of Helloy
  • Charles-Maurice (1682, -1766) abbot of Cernay
  • Victor (1689-1719)
  • Marie-madeleine died into 01/1699
