Victor-Henri (or Victor-Henry ) Debidour is a French author, translator of Greek texts.

He is known for his translations of Eschyle, Sophocle and Euripide, and especially Aristophane, of which he attempts to return liveliness and liveliness. He thus chooses to translate, when they appear significant to him, the names of the characters: Philocléon and Bdélycléon, in the Wasps , become respectively Chéricléon and Vomicléon. In the same spirit, it chooses to return the accent and the characteristics of pronunciation of the Spartiates of Lysistrata , by the accent Auvergnat.
