Victoire of Saxony-Cobourg-Kohary was born in 1822 and died in 1857. It is a Franco-German princess and a personality of the Monarchie of July.
She is the girl of Ferdinand of Saxony-Cobourg-Saalfeld (1785-1851) and his wife the hongaro-Slovak princess Antoinette de Kohary. But it is also the sister of the king consort Ferdinand II of Portugal and the prince Auguste of Saxony-Cobourg-Kohary (1818-1881), husband of the French princess Clémentine of Orleans. Lastly, Victoire is also the niece of Léopold Ier of Belgium and the German cousin of the Prince Consort Albert of the United Kingdom and of his wife the queen Victoria Ière.
April 26th, 1840, the Victoire princess marries in Saint-Cloud the prince Louis of Orleans (1814-1896), duke of Nemours. The prince is the second wire of the king of the French Louis-Philippe Ier (1773-1850) and of his wife Marie-Amélie de Bourbon (1782-1866), princess of Deux-Siciles.
The couple has four children:
Gaston of Orleans (1842-1922), count of Have, who marry Isabelle de Bragance, princess heiress of Brazil and girl of the emperor Pierre II of Brazil and its wife Therese de Bourbon (1822-1889), princess of Deux-Siciles. They are the grandparents of Isabelle of Orleans and Bragance, “countess of Paris”.
Ferdinand of Orleans (1844-1910), duke of Alençon, which marries the princess Sophie de Wittelsbach (1847-1897), duchess in Bavaria and sister of the empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi).
Marguerite of Orleans (1846-1893) which marries the Polish prince Ladislas Czartoryski (1828-1894).
