Vicente Fernández Gómez is a Mexican singer born the February 17th 1940 with Huentitán el Alto, in the state of Jalisco). He is regarded by much as the most contemporary singer in the musical genre of the Mexican song Ranchera, often compared with Pedro Infante or Jorge Negrete.

He married Maria del Refugio Abarca Villaseñor, with whom he had three children of which the singer Alejandro Fernández.
