Vicdessos (occitan: Vic of Sòs ) is a common French, located in the department of the Ariège and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called the Vicdessosiens .

  • Church Notre-Dame

Its presence is attested since 1081, the square bell-tower of Romance style being the only vestige of the primitive church. Its gate dates from XVe century.

The church contains a Orgue of 17 plays whose construction goes up in the middle of the XVIIe century (more half of the pipes are of origin). It belongs to the three oldest organ of the Midday-Pyrenees and was restored in 1991.

Personalities related to the commune

In 1808, in the Pyrenees, of the hunters saw a woman who ran naked in the rocks. Lengthily tracked, it was finally captured and questioned. She offered in answer only growls and an attitude specific to the animals.
