A vibraslap is a Percussion instrument, composed of a metal handle in form of U with side a wood ball and other, a case of resonance, out of wood also. This one is equipped with moving parts which come to touch the walls of the case when the instrument is used. The vibraslap is held firmly by the handle or is fixed on a support. The fact of striking the ball, or of supporting above to slacken it abruptly, causes a vibration along the handle, which then transmits to the case resonance and causes a more or less strong stridulation.

This instrument was used a long time by the comic Bruiteur S of film S for its amusing sonority.

One finds a variety of vibraslaps according to the size or materials.

The Vibraslaps was an acoustic rock group of New Zealand during the years 1980.
