Vibius Sequester

Vibius Sequester is a Latin geographer whom one supposes to have lived between 4th and the 5th century has which one attribute an opuscule entitled De Fluminibus, fontibus, lacubus…. quorum apud poetas made mentio . It is a species of gazetteer poetic.

This document is composed of an alphabetical list of geographical names found in Roman poetries, particularly in Virgile, Ovide and Lucain. Several of the consigned names cannot be found; this can be due to the carelessness or the ignorance of the compiler, but also to the presence of source which we do not have any more.
