The viaduct of Landwasser is a railway Viaduc being in Suisse in the Canton of the Grisons. Built between 1901 and 1903, its range is of 136 meters and its height 65 meters.
The viaduct is borrowed by the rhetic Railroads (RhB). After having left Filisur and having crossed a tunnel of 216 meters whose exit leads directly to cliff, the train carries on its way on the viaduct which spans the throat of the Landwasser in the south of Schmitten.
The construction of the Ligne of Albula began in 1898. It implied important work and was divided into 11 sections for a total of 55 bridges and 39 tunnels. The throats of Landwasser belonged to the places most difficult to cross, this is why it was decided to cross the narrow valley thanks to a viaduct. Construction started in March 1901. In October 1902, some trains could already borrow it. It was brought into service on July 1st 1903 although the line of Albula was not yet entirely finished.
