Veronique Sanson

Veronique Sanson is a French artist, singer, pianist, auteure and compositeure of songs born the April 24th 1949 with Boulogne-Billancourt.

Biography

Veronique Sanson begins her career within the transitory trio " The Martin" Rock; with François Bernheim (future type-setter of Patricia Kaas), and his sister Violaine (May 15th 1947). The group leaves in 1967 in the general indifference, two super forty-five turns, including one the 18 years day of the singer, then separates at once.

Two years later, the first forty-five turns of Veronique Sanson leaves with her the first two compositions: the Fire of heaven (song which one will find in 1992 on the album Without regrets ) and Spring is there, adaptation of a title of Donovan.

The Seventies

Revealed in 1972, by its first album Amoureuse produces by his/her companion Michel Berger, was followed closely by a second: On other side of my dream , Veronique Sanson leaves food to the the United States with the famous American musician Stephen Stills, of the group Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young).

They marry the March 14th 1973 with Guilford in England and will have a single fore-mentioned child Christopher Stills, born the April 19th 1974 with Denver. This exile will bring to him enormously professionally, and will be noticed on one of its best albums, curses It , left in 1974 and recorded with the musicians of Stephen Stills.

The realization of the album Vancouver is entrusted to Bernard Saint-Paul, beginning of a long collaboration because 12 albums of the artist will be produced by the realizer.

The Eighties

The beginning of the Années 1980 was difficult, but Veronique Sanson finds success with Concert S accompanied by the Philharmonic orchestra by Prague in 1989.

In 1988, it publishes the album Me venom , including in particular very discussed Allah , censured in good number of media and which is worth a brought closer protection to him. Following the business of the satanic Verses of Salman Rushdie, Allah is worth in Veronique to receive death threats: for their authors, the song is sacrilege, whereas it is actually only one call to peace. The Nineties

The album Without regrets leaves in 1992 with the famous one: Only of the water which is worth a great success to him.

The June 11th 1995, it marries the humorist Pierre Palmade with Triel-sur-Seine (Yvelines) where it resides since 1981. New album in 1998 entitled Indestructible writes in particular in collaboration with Bernard Swell, old Guitariste of Hugues Aufray. The series in concerts passes by the Sport hall.

The years 2000

In 2000, Sanson takes again songs of Michel Berger ( Of a butterfly to a star ) and carries out a round in the tread with the Orchestre of Paul Buckmaster, the Arrangeur of Elton John. The album With you is testimony live .

After a long silence due to health issues (which it deals with in its book the Softness of the Danger ), Veronique Sanson must cancel in 2002 her round autumnal piano-solo, with three dates with the Théâtre of the Fields-Elysées.

This one returns with the album Long distance in September 2004, which it composes with other authors. The round which results from this from the February 13rd to the April 16th 2005, with in particular nine evenings with the Olympia, is a true triumph. The album and the DVD of this round Olympia 2005 are available since October 2005.

In its book the Softness of the Danger (with Didier Varrod), it describes the events which punctuated its life.

In 2007, a signed title of Veronique appears on the new album of Michel Fugain Alleluia and it prepares a duet with Michel Dubois for the new album of this one (available in France at the end of 2007). In October 2007, Veronique is 20 years the principal guest of the Nights of Champagne, it takes part in it in the great choral " Sanson polyphonique" . A best off of 3 cds, Petits selected moments will be available on November 26th, 2007, exit accompanied by a round in France and Belgium. And the integral of its albums/dvd will be available in February 2008…

Cinema

The song My reverence is an important sound of the film A whole night of Chantal Akerman (1982).

The song One night on its shoulder (Duet with Marc Lavoine, album As they imagine it - WEA, 1994) belonged to the band of the film Soft pedal . On CD of the BO of the film, which was published thereafter, the original version of the song (album On other side of my dream - WEA, 1972) was selected.

Veronique Sanson took part in a short-measuring of Boris Bergman, Room service , in 1982 (untraceable in the trade). She made an appearance in the film the Ball of the bore carried out by Yves Robert in 1991.
