Vernouillet (Yvelines)
Vernouillet is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France, located at approximately 13 km in the North-West of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.
The inhabitants are the Vernolitains .
Geography
Vernouillet is in edge of the Seine, on left bank of the Fleuve and forms a continuous agglomeration with the common neighbor of Verneuil.
In the very wooded south of the commune, are the Hameau X of Brézolles and Marsinval.
The commune is bordering on Verneuil-sur-Seine in the North-West, of Chapet in the west, Morainvilliers in south-west and Médan in south-east. In the east, it is separated by the Seine from Triel-sur-Seine.
Vernouillet is served by the railway line Paris-Saint-Lazare - Mantes-the-Pretty via Poissy with the Gare of Vernouillet - Verneuil.
History
- “Vernouillet” is the diminutive of “Verneuil”, which derives from “Verne”, another name of the Aulne, of Gallic origin.
- the blazon is resulting from the family Rome, lords local. The blazon is surmounted by a crown of city struck in its center of a money nail, and is supported by two palms of gold tied of azure. This blazon of today was drawn by R. Louis.
- 1959 : construction in the park of the castle of one of the first cities HLM of Ile-de-France.
