Verna Sauventreen is an important character in the series the Sword of truth . It is a Sœur of Light, the only surviving ones of the three sent by the Dame Abesse Annalina in the search of Richard Rahl. After bring backhaving brought back it to the Palate Prophets to Tanimura, it helps it to escape, thus carrying out a prophecy and consequently becoming one of her closer friends and to advise. Later, after the supposed death of Annalina, it is indicated by this one by will with becoming the new Abesse Lady.

Physics

Verna is a rather large woman with the long ones and splendid brown hair. She appears to be in the end of about thirty but in fact, she is closer to her 160 years because of the fate slowing down the years inside the Palate of the Prophets. She with the air older than her colleagues because of her long voyage 20 years through the New World to find Richard and to bring back it (normally, the voyage of a sister proceeds over one year) because during these years, she was affected by the time in the same way as all those not residing at the Palate. She remains however an young woman very attracting. She has brown eyes and does not hesitate to make " the glance which tue" when that is necessary.

Verna Sauventreen generally has good heart. Having grown with the Sisters of Light like beginner, then like Sister of Light itself, and becoming then Lady Abesse, it believes in the Creator and in another measurement in Richard, the only able one to triumph over the forces of the evil as prophecies show it.

She maintained a connection with Jedidiah, a wizard corrupted by the evil during the absence of Verna of the Palate and a girl called had of it Leitis.
