The lakes Vermilion are a series of lakes located at the exit of Banff, in Alberta, in the Canadian Rocheuses.

The three lakes are formed on the valley of the Bow River, in the National park Banff, not far from the Route transcanadienne, with the foot of the Mont Rundle. A source of warm water spouts out in the third lake.

History

Archaeological research highlighted traces of human activity around the lake going up at 10.800 years. The site was explored by Daryl Fedje of Parcs Canada, which found remainders of campings and tools in Obsidienne.
