A ventriloque is a illusionist which makes speak its belly with the etymological direction . It lends the word to another character, generally a Marionnette, by emitting the words without moving the Lèvre S.

According to Jean-Eugene Robert-Houdin, which speaks about it in its autobiography relating to Count, the “ ventriloquie would be the science of the engastrimysme ”.
