Biography

Eddie Brock

Eddie Brock was photographer for the " Daily Bugle" , newspaper where also Peter Parker works, alias Spider-Man. Because of this one, Eddie was returned and sank in hatred against Peter and his friend " Araignée". But whereas it is in a church, it crosses the road of the costume symbion which Peter carried before it discovers that it was extraterrestrial. Finding at the symbion an echo with its hatred for Spider-Man, Eddie becomes then Venom, a psychopathe with the same capacities as " Araignée" and which knows the secret identity of " Head of Toile".

With each battle against the Weaver, it was likely to gain, which even already arrived to him some times.

Although it is presented like “malicious” from its antagonism with respect to Spider-Man, Venom is actually a complex character and interesting, and follows a code of personal honor which forces to him to come to assistance of those that it regards as innocent and to kill those which it regards as criminals. Besides this code of honor will lead it several times to collaborate with Spider-Man in order to fight against a common threat (in particular Carnage).

Venom made the “small ones”, part of the symbion was combined with a young serial killer, Cletus Kasady, which made of him Carnage.

It is Venom also which “killed” the Man-Sand with a poisoned bite.

The other members of the race of the symbion, appeared at the time of the crossover Planet off the Symbions , were destroyed by Brock and its symbion to save the ground of the invasion.

Reached of a cancer, he apparently died by opening the veins after having sold his symbion in Don Fortunato.

Angelo Fortunato

In the recent series " Marvel Knights Spider-Man " from Mark Millar, Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson, one learns that Eddie suffers from a Cancer and on sale puts at the biddings its symbion.

It will be repurchased by Don Fortunato, the chief of the maggia, so that its flunkey of wire, Angelo, can prove his superiority with the others. Angelo is then Venom much more pitiful than the others and does not think that has to eliminate Spider-Man of which he knows the secret identity. It killed three innocent in this battle, of which a man disguised as a Weaver who was made tear off the heart. But at the time of a battle against Spidey more unchained than ever, Angelo begged Peter to stop, the symbion understood that it was a coward and that it did not have enough rage in him. Whereas it was on the point of jumping, the symbion separated letting Angelo make a fall of a hundred stages, of which it will not survive.

Mac Gargan/le Scorpion

After having given up Angelo Fortunato (causing the death of this one), the extraterrestrial symbion proposes in Mac Gargan (alias super-unpleasant the Scorpion) to join him. This last accepts and amalgamates with the symbion, preferring it with the very new costume of the Scorpion which Norman Osborn had created to him, the same one which had revealed the secret identity of Spider-Man to him. Mac Gargan is Venom.

At the end of the history, new Venom, Mac Gargan (which was apparently separated from the alive costume) are imprisoned in Ryker' S Island (prison for super-criminals) and promise with the Spider that it will not reveal with anybody the secrecy of his identity: " Why I will divide the best weapon than I have against you?! "

Capacities

Like known as previously, Venom has same the capacities as Spider-man, i.e. the reflexes and agileté of the spider proportiellement to its size, faculty to climb surfaces without effort and that to create and project naturally cobweb. It has also a superhuman force, can be camouflaged with the manner of a chameleon and regenerates his wounds very quickly. Worse still, he escapes within the meaning of spider from the " Tisseur" , which cannot thus see coming its attacks as with its other enemies. Nevertheless, Venom has two weaknesses: it is vulnerable to fire and the sound waves, the first destroying the symbion and the second forcing it to be detached from its host. Spider-man has several times worn of its weaknesses to overcome Venom.

Leading life

In addition to its appearances in the series devoted to Spider-Man, Venom was the high-speed motorboat many mini-series in the Nineties, scenarized for the majority by Larry Hama, but also by Carl Potts, David Michelinie, Howard Mackie, Bruce Jones, Len Kaminski, daN Slott, Ann Nocenti…

In 2003, Daniel Way scénarisé a series devoted to the character under the label Tsunami, but the series, with the rather confused intrigue, stopped.

In 2004, in the mini-series Venom Vs Carnage of Peter Milligan and Clayton Crain, Venom with the host not identified appears at the time of the appearance of a new symbion: Toxin.

In 2007, Venom appears in the film Spider-Man 3 with Topher Grace in the role of the famous symbion.

Finally according to the site Symbion, Venom should have its own film produced by Avi Arad
