Veneux-the-fine sands
Veneux-the-Fine sands is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.
Its inhabitants is called the Veneusien S.
If its official name according to INSEE is Veneux-the-Fine sands , one often finds the orthography Veneux - Fine sands (in particular in the documents of the town hall), the commune being meeting of both Hameau X Veneux and Fine sands .
Geography
Situation
Veneux them Sablons is located along left bank of the the Seine and left bank of the Loing, with their Confluent.The main street (which occurred of Fontainebleau) is the old passage of the N6, which now circumvents Veneux them Sablons and Moret-sur-Loing by a deviation (1955).
The Road of Burgundy, where the town hall, the church and the post office are located, is old the Roman Voie connecting Autun to Lutèce, forsaken following boring by Henri IV of future the N6 between Moret-sur-Loing and Fontainebleau.

History
The first written mention of Veneux goes back to 1220, under Philippe-Auguste: “ Hugo of Herespiriaco is homo domini of hoc tenet apud Venoors ”. The Romance word venoors would be the same one which will give huntsman, and Veneux would be thus in the beginning a village of hunters.The hamlet of Fine sands owes its name with the presence of Dune S, which disappeared because of exploitation from sand.
Before the revolution, the hamlets composing Veneux them Sablons were generally attached to Moret. The common one was created by a Letter patent of Louis XVI on December 16th, 1789, under the name of Veneux-Nadon. It took its current name on February 4th, 1922.

Economy
The commune does not comprise any significant industry. The trade are primarily concentrated on the avenue of Fontainebleau, except notable for two supermarkets.The railway station brings the flow of the most important passage of the commune, but that is not emphasized currently.

Famous characters
Many painters passed by Veneux them Sablons to the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century (the six first have their street in the commune):- the painter Rosa Happiness, who lived with By on the current commune of Thomery.
- Alfred Sisley resided at the villa the Eaglet and painted at least 67 fabrics representing Veneux them Sablons.
- Camille Varlet, born and deceased in Veneux.
- Maurice Martin.
- Leon Richet.
- Pierre Eugene Montézin, Impressionist in love with the Ile-de-France, resided 18 years at Veneux.
- Eugene Lavieille, painter of the School of Barbizon, lived with Fine sands in the years 1870-1880. It painted there, like with Moret-sur-Loing and in the surroundings.
- Camille Pissaro .
But also of other artists:
- Ambroise Thomas, the type-setter.
- Henri Dropsy, engraver in medals, deceased in Veneux.
- Sarah Bernhardt, which remained with the villa the Eaglet (which would be named in its honor, by reference to the part of Edmond Rostand).
- Octave Mirbeau there remained in 1901 and lost its Dingo dog, which will inspire its novel Dingo to him (Romance) .

- Claude Bernard , appointed Seine-et-Marne in 1792, voted death with deferment of Louis XVI (the street which bears its name does not refer to famous the physiologist! ).
- Jean Alexandre Chevrier , mayor (1929-1942) who particularly marked the commune. Businessman (he was owner of the dresser of the Gare of the East), he made build the school complex which bears its name.
- Jean Michel Regnault (Knight about the Merit), born in 1924 in Champagne on the Seine (the Seine and Marne), General secretary of the Courts of Arbitration, temporary Deputy of the Seine and Marne of 1967 to 1986, City council man of Veneux Fine sands of 1965 to 1994, Mayor of Veneux Fine sands of 1983 to 1989, Author of a book on the history of its commune (History of my village) and of a book on the Champagne history on the Seine. It made, to build a theater and exposures which bears its name, to increase the Town hall of the commune and safeguarded the laundrette of the XIXe century. He died in Fontainebleau in May 1994.
Personalities related to a spiritual tradition:
- Dagpo Rimpotché : is a large LAMA Tibetan Gelugpa, he founded in 1978 the congregation Ganden Ling of the school of the Bouddhisme Tibetan, located at Veneux-the-Fine sands.
Tourist monuments and places
The Forêt of Fontainebleau bordering is the principal attraction of the city. One finds there also picturesque alleys curving between the old walls with Vigne (Chasselas of Thomery).Principal monuments:

- Laundrette (19th century, restored in 1985 thanks to the regional contract of Jean Michel Regnault mayor of the commune), supplied with the Nadon source - way of the Laundrette
- Viaduct of the railroad to the top of Loing (1849)
In the room of honor of the Town hall, one can admire works of Dropsy, Montezin and Varlet.
There is a camp-site near the Loing.
The railroad
The Railroad is a very important element of Veneux them Sablons, since RF has approximately 5% of the territory of the commune.During the construction of the line towards Dijon (1851) then Marseilles (1856), the station was that of Saint-Mammès (at the time named Moret-Saint-Mammès). It is only with the creation of the line of Bourbonnais towards Clermont-Ferrand (1858) that the station of Moret was built them Sablons.
