the Vendetta is the title of a novel of Honore de Balzac published in 1830 with the Mame editions and Delaunay-Valley. It belongs to the private Scènes of the life of the human Comedy .
The action starts in Paris in 1800 and finishes at the same place, towards 1820.

- Luigi da Porta only survivor of a vendetta between the families Piombo and da Porta.
Topic
After the Hundred Days, Ginevra Piombo, rich person owners girl of the surroundings of Bastiala, protected from Napoleon become baron, the Corsica with his/her parents in leaves 1800, because his/her father killed the Porta family members by revenge. Of this carnage, only remains a son, Luigi Porta, with which Ginevra falls in love and that she marries it, against the will of his father. Quickly without resources, it exploits punctually its gifts of dessinatrice, cultivated in a workshop at the end of the Empire, before dying of hunger with her child in 1820. The young man, under the blow of anger, will carry the superb black hair of his wife to the father that he holds it for person in charge of his death.
