Vendenheim

Vendenheim (in Alsatian Vengene ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace. Its inhabitants is called Fédinois.

Geography

The city is located at ten kilometers in the north of Strasbourg, along the Canal of the Marne in the Rhine. She plays the double part of residential city and peripheral retail park.

History

The name of the city is mentioned for the first time around the 8th century.

Economy

Vendenheim divides with Mundolsheim and Lampertheim the commercial Park Northern Strasbourg, one of the most important retail parks of France. The refinery of Reichstett is also in major part on the territory of the commune.

Cultural events

  • Eclectic' Art, annual demonstration, is an eclectic exposure of art of the artists of Vendenheim. Once per annum, to May, the Fédinois artists expose their works (decorative Paintings, sculptures, arts) to the Cultural center, 14 RUE JEAN HOLWEG, 67550 VENDENHEIM, beside the town hall. This demonstration, whose third edition was held in 2007, is year by year a franker success.
