Venceslas Ier of Luxembourg
Venceslas Ier of Luxembourg , born with Prague the February 25th 1337, died with Luxembourg the December 8th 1383, was duke of Luxembourg of 1353 with 1383, and duke of the Brabant and Limbourg of 1355 with 1383. It was wire of Jean the Blind man, king de Bohême and count de Luxembourg, and of Beatrice of Bourbon.
His/her older brother Charles was elected Germanic emperor and the county of Luxembourg in 1352 entrusted to him. Two years later, on March 13rd, 1354, it set up Luxembourg in duchy.
In 1352, it married Jeanne of the Brabant (1322 † 1406), girl of Jean III, duke of the Brabant and Limbourg, and Marie d' Évreux. This one became in 1355 duchess of the Brabant and Limbourg. In order to guarantee the indivisibility of the Duchy of the Brabant, it signed the '' Blijde Inkomst '', but had to fight against his brother-in-law Louis II of Male, count de Flandre, which asserted its share of duchy. It could not empécher the catch of Brussels by the Flemings, but some Everard you Serclaes succeed in by a blow of audacity driving out the Flemings of the city.
Thereafter, it had to face interior disorders.
