Venceslas III of Bohemia

Venceslas III of Bohemia (in Czech Václav III. , in Polish Wacław III Czeski , in Hungarian III. Vencel , in German Wenzel III. ) was born the October 6th 1289 and deceased the August 4th 1306. He is the son of the king Venceslas II of Bohemia and Judith of Habsbourg, the girl of the emperor Rodolphe I {{er}}.

He is king de Hongrie (1301 - 1305), king de Bohême (1305 - 1306) and king de Pologne (1305 - 1306).

King de Hongrie

In 1298, it becomes been engaged of the girl of the king of Hungary André III. After the death of last representing line of the Arpad, supported by his/her father and most of the Tycoon S Hungarian, it is crowned king de Hongrie the August 27th 1301, with Székesfehérvár, under the name of Ladislas V (in Hungarian V. László ). Very quickly, it must face a virulent opposition of Charles Robert and its partisans. In spite of the military aid brought by his father, it must leave Buda for the Bohemia in 1304, instructing a governor to represent it in Hungary. Not having more any authority in the country, he abdicates the December 6th 1305 with the profit of Otton III of Bavaria.

King de Bohême and of Poland

When his/her father dies the June 21st 1305, he inherits the thrones of Bohemia and Poland. Unpopular in Bohemia, it must also face a strong opposition in Poland, carried out by Ladislas I {{er}} the Brief and Henri III of Głogów. Moreover, it does not receive any support of the Pape Boniface VIII. Ladislas the Brief, with the assistance of the Hungarians, takes the control of the Petite Poland while Henri de Głogów seizes the Large-Poland. The August 8th 1305, in exchange of the area of Meissen, Venceslas III yields the Poméranie de Gdańsk to the Margrave S of the Brandebourg, to make sure of their support.

Death and succession

On the way towards Poland to assert the crown, with the head of an army, he is assassinated with Olomouc the August 4th 1306. With its disappearance also the Dynastie dies out Přemyslides.

Venceslas III was married with Viola, the girl of Mieszko de Cieszyn.

Following the disappearance of the Czech dynasty , Albert I {{er}} of Habsbourg proclaims that the kingdom of Bohemia is only a Fief Holy roman Empire, which starts a 5 year old war between the Habsbourg and Henri de Carinthie. In Poland, benefitting from the confused situation, Ladislas Ier the Brief seizes Cracow and reaches the capacity, making fold the Patriciens of Cracow and the bishop Jan Muskata.
