The Kedia d' Idjil is a small solid mass of plates located at the north of the Mauritania, near to the border is the Western Sahara. Its maximum altitude is of 917 m and precipitations annual are of 63 Misters This solid mass was exploited in 1962 for its resources Fer by the MIFERMA (Company of the iron mines of Mauritania), nationalized in 1974. The exploitation passed to company SNIM (National company mining industries). A railway line moreover 680 km was built of Zouerate to the port ore tanker of Nouadhibou for the train which transports the ore. It will be then sent by boat towards the rich countries.
