Venaus is an Italian commune of the Province of Turin in the Piedmont in Italy.

Geography

Venaus is in the Val of Suse to 57km of Turin.

History

The commune was re-elected in Venalzio during the fascistic period.

Venaus is on the layout envisaged of the train at high speed (TAV treno AD Alta velocità Lyon-Turin.

June 4th, 2005, a walk of Suse to Venaus is organized at the instigation of the movement NO TAV.

Clashes violent one between the police force and the demonstrators take place on December 6th, 2005.
